This position is temp-to-hire.

Fabricate and assemble various steel parts per company drawings/specifications using ASME approved and qualified welding procedures specifications. Use and maintain related shop equipment for welding and product movement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: may include any or all of the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Read and interpret company drawings and specifications

  • Must pass a 6G certified pipe weld test with the following procedures GMAW (MIG) and GTAW(TIG) meeting ASME requirements
  • Communication with outside inspection agencies
  • Operate and maintain welding equipment efficiently
  • Observe and follow all company safety rules and regulations
  • Overtime, as required by business needs
  • Follow Safety Guidelines and use the “Stop Work” Authorization
  • Follow all Quality Hold Points and support root cause analysis as needed
  • Ensure proper housekeeping is being followed
  • Meet or exceed daily work assignment goals that are provided.
  • Maintain company tooling and report issues as needed

Education and/or Experience:

Highschool diploma or GED, one to three years’ experience, and or the equivalent in technical school and experience

  • Responsibilities would also require a “heads up” approach of maintaining shop equipment and the upkeep of tools that are essential to the calibrations performed by department.

Grind, sand, or polish, using hand tools or hand-held power tools, a variety of metal, wood, stone, clay, plastic, or glass objects. Includes chippers, buffers, and finishers.

Remove the rough areas from the pieces by using hand held grinders or hammer and a chisel
Inspect and measure the dimensions of every part and also verify parts measurements match up with the drawing if part is a template ensuring order requirements. All documents require grinder’s initial upon completion when necessary, weld repair lead in areas or gauges.
Ensure Quality of finished product is within compliance
Overhead crane, grinder, welder and hand tools experience desired 
Ability to carry 50lbs
Familiar with manufacturing environment with regular exposure to factors such as moving 
particles, temperature extremes, moving machinery, equipment and loud noise.

Must be able to read a tape measurer, know simple math, including decimals and fractions
High School Diploma or equivalent.
